Live like a natural scientist

Recently, I am into a book about Charles Darwin. A fascinating book that mixes the struggles of Charles Darwin against to the notion of god and the angry murmuring of Karl Mark. Uud Marx Stand still in Darwin's Garten by Ilona Jerger is a fiction based on letters of those two great minds in the history of human. After more than a century, our civil world still very much affected/shaped by their theories.
I haven't competed the reading yet. But I feel that I should start to practice how to record what I observed. After reading few chapters, I started to feel that, to record what has been seen could be the secret of why Darwin became Darwin.
Take a step back, we may actually claim that this is what a natural scientist does. Like 400 years, the apple fell on a student's head. The student who was, like what we are suffering now, escaping the plague outbreak from London to Cambridge. But he did not stop the observation of world; not only the civil world created by human beings, but also the natural world that breeds a whole planet of lives.
Newton was an observer, who saw through the law of motion via a falling apple. Similarly, Darwin immersed himself into the feathers of birds, the world of earthworms, the root of plants he climbed to the top of volcano while it was erupting. He saw a pinch of the nature and was sensible enough to observe the whole.
None of these would happen without a proper log. A research log/ diary is an invaluable way to dive into our own minds. Only when we sit on a chair at the midnight. Apart from the noise made by those foxes in the garden and the laughing occasionally bursts from the neighborhood, in certain peaceful moments, we read through what has been written on the log, and replay in our minds about the visual, the scent, the temperature that we actually felt when we were in the natural world, then we start to act like a spider, to weave a net of information. We desire to see the shape of the really world thorough a piece and a piece of nets. A thread and a thread are continuously accumulated day by day, then it becomes possible to construct a strong-enough net to capture the bee that makes the buzzing sound in our minds.
The buzzing sound is just like questions of a young kid. Why the sky is blue, why the tree is green and why a rose is so beautiful but equipped with terrifying thorns. The desire to know the really world is a buzzy bees. Only when questions are answered, it may rest.
To live like a natural scientist, to record our observation. To be like a 2-year-old again, to desire the answer.
